Earlier today I saw a woman wearing an odd shoe/glove/sock/wetsuit hybrid on her feet. I didn't want to stare, but I was equal parts horrified and baffled.
To be fair to the woman in question, her pair was a dark purply blue color, perhaps just the tiniest bit more feminine than this off-putting shade of gray.
The set above looks like someone took a cement cast of his feet, then decide to market it to the general public.
My question for you: What are these shoes and why, why, WHY would anyone wear them?
Do they cure some chronic ailment? I really can't imagine why else someone would pay to wear them in public.
Help me solve this mystery!

My college-bound cousin has a pair and he says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn. The company is definitely not going for style! :) Lana
OOOh they DO look comfy. But you know, they might just make it.. who ever thought Crocs would? There's always people who go for comfort and something different, I guess :).
BTW - I would like to know what you "googled" to find a picture online after seeing them :)
I saw a girl wearing them in Charleston last spring with a sundress. My MIL and I couldn't help but stare at her.
No thank you!
Yikes! I think we just call these "gross." :)
I know a lot of people have started running in them. Supposedly they are the most natural thing for you to wear. I've never tried them but have talked to people who rave about how great they feel when running... I think they are strange
Did the woman who was wearing them look "sporty"? My running coach wears them after a run and swears by them.
Can't believe y'all have seen so many of these and yesterday was my first time!
The woman was NOT wearing running or workout clothes; she had these shoes on with "street" clothes, if you will.
Definitely makes more sense for a "barefoot" running experience. I still think they're odd-looking!
Weird (and ugly)!!! I've never seen such a thing, and I'm also wondering what you googled to find these! :)
I googled "web toe shoes" and took a look at the images. (Word to the wise: don't.) Should have looked at the search results, though, as it seems this company's site was at the top of the list!
Vibrams are kind of weird shoes.
A guy that works with Clay ONLY wears them. He wears them to work, to church, to the grocery store... Supposedly it is like not even wearing shoes to begin with.
I think I will stick to my Asics.
There was a kid in our youth group who had these a few years ago, when they very first came out--and he was kind of an odd duck, so, it didn't seem weird to me. I've never seen anyone just out wearing them--a lot of runners like them though. I however, will stick to my Nike's, thankyouverymuch!
